Tech Automatic Coffee/Espresso Machine ME-708D with Touch Screen Yeah, it's made in China, what isn't nowadays? It also costs about half of other units with comparable features. Supposedly there are parts from Italy, Japan and Germany inside, but I haven't verified this for myself. What I have verified is that it makes a great cup of coffee, espresso and cappuccino. At first, my wife was skeptical, especially since she likes decaf (blech!), but thanks to the fact that this machine is equally happy with ground coffee, she is on board now, and hasn't turned on her little drip machine since we got this. The menus are minimal, but easy to follow, and after about 10 minutes of watching me, my normally apprehensive about new tech wife was making her own coffee, just the way she likes it.
I'm not a coffee snob, but I know a great cup when I taste one. I've probably increased my intake two-fold since getting this machine a couple of weeks ago, so that must mean something. The coffee comes out with a head on it (crema) and you can tell... Read more

Tech Automatic Coffee/Espresso Machine ME-708D with Touch Screen Yes it is plastic, but it works well and if not abused or treated roughly should hold up as well as other coffee makers that are also plastic. The instructions are not totally in sequence but they are functional. The espresso is very good and the milk frother is simple and works flawlessly. Getting the correct amount of coffee the correct grind, and the amount of water per cup of espresso takes some adjusting to get to your personal taste. This machine is easy and we will see about the reliability. We also will see about availability of repair and parts in the future. All in all, this was a good purchase.
